HMPA has successfully implemented continuing legal education requirements since 1995. HMPA's CLE criteria mandates 8 hours of CLE per year for Voting Members and has recently increased the CLE criteria for PHP members from 8 hours to 10 hours per year effective January 1, 1999.

CLE Luncheons are scheduled on the 2^nd Tuesday of every month and cover a wide variety of substantive legal topics. The CLE Committee also schedules 1/2 day and full day seminars throughout the year.  These seminars encompass a wide range of specialized pratice areas and topics such as Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Texas Rules of Evidence, and Trial Preparation and Assistance at Trial.

HMPA CLE Policy: Summary of the rules and guidelines for earning Continuing Legal Education

Verification of Self Study: Two (2) hours of self-study may be submitted along with 6 hours of classroom continuing legal education to satisfy the requirement. Self study includes reading on legal issues, paralegal issues, administrative issues pertaining to law office administration and management.  Evidence of self study must be submitted using the Verification of Self Study form.
