About the Speaker:
Taylor Gissell is a Compliance and Ethics lawyer currently living and working in Houston, TX. She currently serves as the Senior Compliance and Ethics Counsel at Transocean, a premier offshore drilling company, with operations in five continents. Her areas of focus are Anti-corruption, Privacy, Human Rights, Trade Compliance, and Compliance Program Design.
Taylor graduated from Texas A&M University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Sociology, and in 2016, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston with her Juris Doctorate. Taylor was chosen as the 2015 International Association of Law Schools student author award winner for all of North and South America. And by 2018, Taylor authored several articles related to compliance topics, which earned her multiple citations, including in criminal law textbooks. After joining Walmart Inc. in 2016, Taylor changed her focus from legal writing to focus on high-level compliance strategy development and program design of Walmart’s award-winning Ethics and Compliance Program.
When she’s not working, Taylor loves writing fiction, playing with her Black Labrador, Jake, and hiking in National Parks on her quest to visit them all.
